Two explosions occurred near a residential building in Bucha on March 23. According to eyewitnesses, one of the explosives detonated in a trash can, and the second explosion occurred while law enforcement officers and rescuers were already working at the scene. Local residents reported this to the Bucha City Council.
One of the eyewitnesses, who lives near the scene, said he woke up to a loud noise. Initially, he assumed it was a gas explosion in one of the apartments.
About two hours later, a second explosion occurred. According to the witness, investigators were already at the scene at that moment.
“Two hours later, there was a second explosion. Investigators had arrived, presumably. They were just passing by the trash can. And at that moment, there was a second explosion”, the man said.
Eyewitnesses noted that the shockwave was clearly felt, and the moment of detonation was captured by surveillance cameras.
As a reminder, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk,reported that an unknown object exploded near a residential building in Bucha, and later another unknown device detonated.
The Kyiv region police clarified that at 5:35 AM, a report was received on the 112 emergency line from a resident of Bucha about an explosion that occurred in the street. As a result of the shockwave, windows in her house were damaged.
Police, SES rescuers, and explosives experts from the Kyiv region police promptly arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers immediately cordoned off the area in accordance with the protocol for terrorist threats and warned residents about the danger of a repeated explosion.
While responding to the call at the scene, another explosion occurred.
