In the Church of Saint Clement Sheptytsky of the UGCC, in Lviv on Maksym Kryvonis Street, this year the Shroud was supplemented with photographs of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. This was reported by artist, icon painter, and public figure Ivanka Dymyd.
According to her, this year, instead of the traditional large amount of flowers, black-and-white portraits of fallen defenders were placed near the Shroud. This idea belongs to Father Sevastian.
He explained that the best ones standing before Jesus are specifically those who "gave their lives to live eternally".
The installation itself, consisting of a cross, a white cloth, and special wooden stands with portraits of the Heroes, was assembled by Andriy Vynnychok.
"This year, the Shroud in the Church of St. Clement Sheptytsky on Kryvonis Street is special. Minimal flowers. Father Sevastian shared the idea with me that the best ones standing before Jesus will be those who gave their lives to live eternally. Andriy Vynnychok assembled the installation. Thank you to everyone involved! We shall rise," – wrote Ivanka Dymyd.

As a reminder, today, April 10, is Good Friday, the most sorrowful day, a day of mourning. On this day, the Church commemorates the unjust condemnation of Jesus Christ by the Sanhedrin. He was handed over to the Jewish authorities, made the Way of the Cross to Golgotha, suffered mortal agony, and died on the cross.
