Russians attacked the Southern Bridge with ballistic missiles, traffic closed

In Kyiv, as a result of the overnight Russian attack, the Southern Bridge was damaged, and traffic on the structure has been completely closed. Also, due to the shelling, Metro facilities and retail infrastructure were damaged. This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Specialists are currently assessing the extent of the damage to the Southern Bridge. In addition, metro train traffic on the green line between the Osokorky and Chervonyi Khutir stations has been suspended.

Also, as a result of the Russian attack, damage occurred between the Darnytsia and Chernihivska metro stations and the exits from Lisova station. Metro specialists worked all night to ensure traffic through the stations.

Changes to public transport operations

To ensure passenger transport between the left and right banks, the city has significantly increased ground transport:

• On the temporary bus route No. 1-M 15 units of rolling stock will operate to compensate for the load on the red metro line.
• Buses No. 22 and No. 91 run across the Darnytsia Bridge.
• On route No. 22 the number of buses has been increased to 14 units. Separately, 5 buses will run on the short section from Trostianetska Street to the Lybidska metro station.
• On route No. 91 the number of vehicles has increased to 7 units.

Also, as a result of the shelling, the Auchan Chernihivska hypermarket on Hnat Khotkevych Street was significantly damaged. The retail chain reported on Facebook that the store's operations have been temporarily suspended until its condition is assessed and restoration work is completed. No employees were injured.

On the evening before, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. In Desnianskyi district of the capital, a strike was recorded near one of the metro stations.

Consequences of strikes and falling debris were recorded in Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi and Podilskyi districts of the capital. As a result of the attacks, a 46-year-old woman was killed, and 15 more people were injured.

In Desnianskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, among the injured are two medics, residents of a student dormitory, and people who were in cars and a park.

As a result of the shelling, a number of civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged in the city:

• at least 12 multi-storey residential buildings and a university dormitory;
• business center, buildings of the medical and burn centers;
• shopping center, gas station and metro station;
• private cars and a tram.

In the morning of October 27, Russian forces again attacked the capital. The consequences of the strikes were recorded in Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi, and Podilskyi districts. During the morning shelling, two 22-year-old brothers were injured. In addition, overnight in Obolonskyi district, two fires broke out in non-residential buildings.
