The restaurant near the "Lukyanivska" station is a landmark for the capital, as it was here on May 24, 1997, that the first McDonald's in Ukraine opened. On the night of May 24, 2026, precisely on the establishment's anniversary, the building was damaged as a result of another massive attack by the Russian Federation on Kyiv.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, this restaurant has been damaged several times due to enemy shelling. Despite this, the company has carried out the necessary work and resumed customer service.

Currently, the McDonald's chain provides employment for almost 11,000 citizens. In total, there are 139 company restaurants in Ukraine, of which 124 are currently operating in 42 settlements.
According to data from the analytical system Opendatabot, based on the results of 2025, the company "McDonald's Ukraine Ltd." demonstrated significant growth in financial indicators:
- Revenue: amounted to UAH 21.3 billion, which is 26.6% more than the previous year's figure.
- Net profit: increased by 21.3% and reached UAH 1.567 billion.
- Taxes: in 2025, the company transferred UAH 3.5 billion to the budget of Ukraine.
The owner of the Ukrainian division of the network is MCD Europe Limited, registered in London.
