The LUWR Business Center ("Lukyanivskyi"), which suffered significant damage as a result of Russian shelling, will be partially demolished. The owner of the facility is preparing a legal strategy to claim reparations from the Russian Federation in international jurisdictions and to file a claim with the Register of Damages. This was reported reported by the owner of the business center, Nazariy Bench, in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

Recovery Plan and Technical Expertise

Currently, the development company is considering the option of partial demolition of structures in the far left part of the building, where extensive damage has been recorded on several floors. The recovery plan includes the dismantling of damaged sections, after which specialists will restore the columns and reinforce the building.

A certified expert, who studied the damage after all previous five impacts, was involved in assessing the condition of the facility. Work at the site will begin after the debris from the missiles has been cleared from the area.

"We will need special equipment for demolition, as there is quite serious damage to the facade, and parts of the structures need to be cut with special construction shears. We are currently working on this", said Nazariy Bench.

Litigation and Damage Recovery

LLC "BC Lukyanivskyi" has already initiated legal proceedings against Russia. The amount of damages for the first impact alone (including lost profits) is estimated at $8.73 million USD. The company is currently awaiting a court decision in this case (No. 910/1211/25) and conclusions from KNDISE regarding subsequent attacks to file new lawsuits.

The owner emphasized that the company is focused on enforcing court decisions abroad, particularly in the UK and the USA. The calculation is based on the formation of new legal practice that will allow bypassing Russia's sovereign immunity due to prolonged aggression, or on future international compensation agreements. BC LUWR is also preparing to file a claim with the Register of Damages caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

History of the Facility and Consequences of Recent Attacks

The LUWR Business Center, with a total area of 28 thousand square meters, was launched shortly before the full-scale war. As of early 2022, about 60% of its premises were already leased, but after the shelling, the center's operations were suspended.

Another attack on this area occurred on the night of May 24, 2026. At that time, Russia carried out a massive combined attack on Kyiv with missiles and drones. In the capital, three people died and 87 were injured, and missiles hit the shopping mall "Kvadrat" and a market in Lukyanivka, which burned down almost completely.

According to YouControl data, LLC "BC Lukyanivskyi" was founded in 2018, and its founder is the Swiss company BCG Investment AG. The owner of the facility emphasized that he relies solely on recovering funds from the aggressor, not on assistance from the city or state.
