Missile strike on Kyiv on June 2: 4 dead and dozens injured, houses damaged in 8 districts

As a result of a massive attack by Russian troops on Kyiv on the night of June 2, at least 4 people died, and the number of injured increased to 58 people, of whom 40 were hospitalized, including two children. This was reported by the city mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Consequences of the attack on the capital's districts: destruction and fires

According to the SES of Kyiv, enemy hits and falling debris were recorded in Podilskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, Pecherskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.

  • Podilskyi district: as a result of a hit on a nine-story building, partial destruction of the upper floors occurred, people may be under the rubble. 5 injured are known. A fire was also recorded in a four-story educational institution building, in a utility company's warehouse, and cars caught fire.
  • Solomianskyi district: debris hit the upper floors of a 15-story building, a fire broke out on the 16th floor of a 20-story building and on the 7-9 floors of a 24-story residential building. Rescuers unblocked one man. Two private houses were on fire.
  • Holosiivskyi district: destruction of the 2nd and 3rd floors of a polyclinic was recorded. Office premises, roadside vending stalls, several cars, and a business center were on fire.
  • Shevchenkivskyi district: facades and roofs of 9-story buildings were damaged, a fire broke out in a 24-story residential building on the 4-5 floors and in a three-story non-residential building.
  • Sviatoshynskyi district: the facade and glazing of a five-story building were damaged, a fire broke out on the territory of non-residential buildings.
  • Darnytskyi district: a fire broke out at a gas station due to falling debris.
  • Obolonskyi and Pecherskyi districts: a fire in a temporary construction site shed was recorded and minor damage occurred on the territory of an unfinished construction. Debris fell near two kindergartens in Obolonskyi district.

As of 06:20, 51 injured were reported, but later Vitali Klitschko clarified the data to 58 injured. Emergency services are continuing to eliminate the consequences of the massive strike.

On the night of June 2, 2026, Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv, using strike UAVs, cruise and ballistic missiles.
