Two children were hospitalized at the Ohmatdyt children's hospital after a massive Russian attack on Kyiv on June 2. The 2-year-old boy sustained the most severe injuries, and medics performed emergency surgery on him. This is reported reported by the medical facility's press service, writes Suspilne.

Condition of the injured children

Doctors diagnosed a bruise and soft tissue hematoma of the left thigh in the 4-year-old child. After receiving necessary assistance and conducting an examination, the patient was transferred to outpatient treatment.

The 2-year-old boy sustained significantly more serious injuries. The child was found to have an explosive fracture of the left elbow joint, as well as multiple wounds to the torso and face caused by foreign bodies in the soft tissues. The boy was hospitalized, doctors stabilized his condition and performed emergency surgery, during which an external fixation device was applied. Currently, the child is in the department of orthopedics and traumatology under constant specialist supervision; prolonged treatment and rehabilitation await him.

Later, at Kyiv kindergarten No. 82 wrotethat the injured children are their pupils. Their names are Jasim and Jacob.

The children's mother, who died, as writes TSN, was Veronika Ch. The tragedy occurred near the UNIT.Home residential complex.

In total, in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, where the family lived, three people died as a result of the massive attack: two women born in 1949 and 1977 died near one of the entrances of a high-rise building, and a man born in 1977 died near a parking lot.

Scale of the tragedy and destruction in Kyiv

The night attack on June 2 became one of the largest during the full-scale invasion.

In total, during the massive strike, the Russian Federation used 729 means of air attack. Air defense forces shot down or suppressed 642 targets, but debris hit civilian objects in 8 districts of the capital:

  • Podilskyi district: a nine-story building was partially destroyed, an educational institution and a warehouse were damaged.
  • Holosiivskyi district: a polyclinic was destroyed, a business center was damaged.
  • Solom'ianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts: fires in residential high-rise buildings.
  • Darnytskyi district: fire on the territory of a gas station.
  • Sviatoshynskyi district: facades of residential buildings were damaged.
  • Obolonskyi and Pecherskyi districts: debris fell near kindergartens and on construction sites.

As of now, the number of casualties in the capital has increased to 90 people. The death toll has risen to 7 people, as one of the severely ill patients died in a medical facility.
