More and more Lviv residents are thinking about where they can have a good rest and feel the coolness outside the city - near rivers, waterfalls, lakes. "Tvoe Misto" has compiled several popular destinations for a one-day getaway, where you can escape the noisy city.
Stryi River

The river's source is located in the most beautiful parts of the Eastern Carpathian Mountains on the picturesque slopes of the Zelenyi Yavnyk peak. The river's length is 232 kilometers, with a basin area of 3060 square kilometers. It is located near the Carpathian village Nyzhnie Synovydne and the village Tyshivnytsia. The river is visible from the Lviv – Skole highway. You can drive to the river bank from the village Tyshivnytsia, turning off the road before the bridge in the village.

Dobrotvir Reservoir

Dobrotvir Reservoir is a reservoir near the town of Dobrotvir, Kamyanka-Buzkyi district, Lviv region, built in 1959. The reservoir was created on the Western Bug River. It is known among anglers as it is home to carp, perch, roach, pike, bleak, and crucian carp.

Lazny Waterfall

Skole Beskids is a land of mountains, hardworking Boikian people, natural wonders, a reserve of unique nature in the vicinity of the resort areas of Skhidnytsia, Slavskoe, Tysovets with a mild climate and the highest mountain at 1268 meters. In the "Skole Beskids" National Nature Park, there is the highest waterfall in Lviv region, Lazny. The water stream, up to 12 meters long, has three cascades. You cannot drive to the waterfall by car. You need to walk along mountain paths from the village of Dovhe. The waterfall is not very popular, unlike, for example, Hurkalo or Kamianka waterfalls. However, it is no less beautiful, and there are never many tourists there.
By car from Lviv to the village of Dovhe, it takes over 2 hours, which is more than 100 kilometers. Then, it's a walk to the waterfall along the left bank of the Stryi River. The first landmark for tourists will be the Mother of God statue. The road leads to the ruins of the Stryi Hydroelectric Power Station, after which it enters the forest, where a marked trail leads to the Lazny stream, and then to the waterfall itself. It is not recommended to walk the paths to the waterfall in rainy weather.

Dniester Source

The source of the Dniester River, the third longest river in Ukraine and ninth in Europe, begins as a small stream at an altitude of 932 meters above sea level between the villages of Rozluch, Shum'yach, and Vovche, and has a total length of 1352 km. The Dniester is the largest river in Western Ukraine and originates in the Upper Dniester Beskids near Mount Rozluch.
In its middle course, the river flows between mountain villages and serves as a historical border between the ancient cultural and ethnographic regions of Bukovina and Galicia; in its middle and lower courses, it borders Podolia and Bessarabia.
The Dniester source is located at an altitude of 818 meters. The hike to it is best started from the village of Rozluch – the route is marked. Along the way, you can admire Boikian houses and wooden churches in the village. In Rozluch, there are also springs of water "Sodova", "Naftusia", and "Zalizna", as well as an artificial lake near a pine forest.

Kamyanka Waterfall
The waterfall is located in the "Skole Beskids" National Nature Park. It is a geological monument and a site for recreational tourism. Near the Kamyanka waterfall, there are places for travelers to rest, both with tents and for visitors arriving by car or motorcycle. The Kamyanka waterfall is located at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level.
By train from major cities, you can reach Lviv, and from there, take a bus to the village of Dubyna (the sign will be a cross and a chapel opposite the bus stop). From the stop, walk to the chapel and from there, head along the paved road across the Opіr River bridge to the checkpoint. At the checkpoint, pay for admission (approximately 15 UAH per person) and proceed directly to the waterfall.
