The Russian air attack is ongoing in Kyiv. In the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital, the fall of an enemy drone in an open area near a five-story residential building has been recorded. This was reported by the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko.
The UAV fell near a residential high-rise building, and emergency services of the capital have departed to the scene.
Updated at 10:38: According to the mayor, in the Podilskyi district, a fire broke out in a 16-story building at the level of the 14th-15th floors.
Emergency services are heading to the scene.
Consequences of the night shelling of Kyiv and the region
On the night of September 1, the Russian army launched missiles of various types and 218 attack drones at Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 199 enemy targets (including 5 ballistic missiles, 5 "Kalibrs", 2 S8000 "Banderol" missiles, and 187 UAVs). Hits were recorded in 28 locations in total.
In the capital, as of 08:00, the deaths of 8 people have been confirmed,and 5 more have been injured:
- Darnytskyi district: seven people died as a result of a ballistic strike on railway facilities (six were employees of "Ukrzaliznytsia"), one employee was hospitalized.
- Holosiivskyi district: one person died due to falling missile debris and a UAV.
- Solomianskyi district: four people were injured due to falling drones, including two children.
In the Kyiv region, as of 09:23, four people have died and 14 have been injured (all deceased and 13 injured were in Boryspil due to a strike on an enterprise and damage to residential buildings). One person was injured in the Obukhivskyi district.
