On June 20, the Icon with the relics of St. John Paul II was unveiled in Lviv, inside the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin (UGCC) in Sykhiv district.

You can pray before the icon this week, until June 27.

«Human body remains the temple of the Holy Spirit. Through the veneration of the relics of St. Pope, we’ll be able to approximate the person who has been spiritually close to the Lord and led us on the path of truth. In addition, we will learn from his teachings, his words, and ask him for grace to love God as he did. John Paul II urged not to be afraid. In particular, not to fear being saints, to fight for the truth. This is the only way a Christian should go», – said Orest Fredyna, the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.

Let us recall that 20 years ago, in June 2001, Pope John Paul II visited Ukraine. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of this visit Lviv will host a number of events. Read the full program here.
