The adopted document will simplify the design and construction processes of the memorial in the capital's center. Representatives of the Maidan Museum emphasize that the creation of this complex is not just an architectural project, but a matter of worthy commemoration of freedom fighters and responsibility before Ukrainian history. This is stated on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Law No. 4865-IX (registered as draft law No. 14166) is intended to regulate specific urban planning and regulatory nuances that for years slowed down the start of large-scale works at the location. Earlier, on April 29, the Ukrainian parliament supported this initiative with a constitutional majority of 278 votes from people's deputies.
Key provisions and significance of the signed law:
- elimination of regulatory and bureaucratic obstacles for the start of construction of the memorial complex;
- definition of special conditions and simplified procedures for the design of the object;
- regulation of land and architectural issues within the historical center of Kyiv;
- creation of conditions for finalizing the long process of preparation for the construction of the Museum.
The institution's team also expressed deep gratitude to the Office of the President of Ukraine, General Kyrylo Budanov, and other key state institutions for their special attention to the national memory policy and support for the public demand for memorializing the feat of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.
