Due to warm weather, heating will be suspended in Lviv’s residential buildings, starting from today, October 20. It will be restored on the night of October 22-23. At the same time, the heat supply to certain institutions – hospitals, clinics, kindergartens – will not be stopped, according to Iryna Marunyak, Lviv Deputy Mayor for Housing and Communal Services.

«Due to warming, we are suspending the supply of heating to residential buildings. Today, it will be 15 degrees in the daytime, 11 degrees at night, tomorrow – 16 degrees in the daytime, 10 degrees at night, and on Friday afternoon – 13 degrees, at night – 6 degrees. As the average daily temperature during these days will be higher than 8 degrees, heat will not be supplied to residential buildings. We will resume it at night from Friday to Saturday because it will become colder starting from Saturday», – City Council’s press service quoted the official.

According to Maryniak, the suspension of heat supply will help them avoid overheating in the premises, regulating the operation of heat supply facilities in accordance with the outside air temperature. It also saves money on the heat for residents.

Let us recall that this year’s heating season in Lviv began on October 11.
