A skating rink will open either 7 or 8 December in the center of Lviv, near the Ratusha, the white tower of City Hall. This information was reported to Lviv Now by Ihor Velychko, a director of the entertainment company «VIKOS.»

«The skating rink in the center of Lviv will start working next week – on Tuesday-Wednesday. Everything will depend on the weather conditions and how quickly we can «grow» the ice,» Ihor Velychko says.

According to him, the rink will be open from 10:00 to 22:00. Usual price for an hour of skating (including the rent of equipment) is 150 UAH ($6).

The process of ice-installation is on-going.

We will add that this modern skating rink appeared in the city center on Rynok Square not so long ago, in 2006. According to the local historian Petro Radkovets, there was a market in its place until 1952, but the ice-rink wasn’t installed there in Soviet times.Instead, Lviv residents could skate on almost every pond in the city during that time.
