Experts will investigate facts of possible violations of the rights of students and teachers, compliance with ethical conduct standards, as well as the legality of using classroom No. 105 and other university premises. Large-scale investigations began after a high-profile scandal and allegations against the former rector Volodymyr Bugrov due to the online release of an intimate video and student complaints about inappropriate messages. This was reported by Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The university administration assured a full and impartial investigation of all circumstances of the incidents that disturbed the university community and led to youth protests. A special confidential email address has been created to collect complaints, documents, and information about violations. At the same time, the university leadership strictly warned officials about legal liability for attempts to hide or destroy evidence.

Main directions of work and tasks of the created commission:
- full and comprehensive clarification of the circumstances of ethical violations and analysis of management decisions during the relevant period;
- verification of the procedure for using classroom No. 105 and other specific premises and property of the university;
- confidential reception and systematization of inquiries from students and staff via the email address [email protected];
- preparation of balanced conclusions to ensure an appropriate institutional and legal response from the university.
The institution's leadership emphasized that KNU is interested in protecting the rights of participants in the educational process and fully restoring trust in one of the country's main universities.
As a reminder, on April 1 in the center of Kyiv a protest action took place by KNU students who demanded Bugrov's removal. The reason was not only corruption allegations: in March 2026, intimate photos and videos allegedly filmed with the rector's participation in one of the classrooms of the university's main building spread online.
