On March 16, in Zaporizhzhia, there was an explosion at the railway station, its character is not known yet. The secretary of the Zaporizhzhia city council Anatoly Kurtev reported about it in the Telegram.
«The nature of the explosion at the Zaporizhzhia-2 railway station is still unknown. Relevant services are working on the spot,» – he wrote.
At the same time, local residents say that the explosion was heard in different parts of the city, but there was no alarm. The information about air attacks was approved by Oleksandr Starukh, Head of the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, who added that the second rocket landed in the city’s botanical garden.
«The morning turned out to be bad. The main news is that for the first time in Zaporizhzhia, civilian objects were bombed. The rockets landed in the area of the Zaporizhzhia-2 railway station. According to preliminary data, no one was killed,» – Oleksandr Starukh said.

According to the Ukrainian railway company «Ukrzaliznytsia», the Zaporizhzhia-2 station was damaged by the shelling, and staff and passengers were not injured. In particular, the tracks and the catenary were damaged, and windows were blown out of the buildings. There were also suburban trains at the station without passengers, their windows were damaged.
«Due to the shelling, the suburban route Zaporizhzhia – Kantserivka was cancelled, the train connecting Zaporizhzhia – Synelnykove will depart at 09:30 from the station Zaporizhzhia-Live. The departure of all suburban trains departing from Zaporizhzhya-2 station will be temporarily postponed to the city’s main railway station,» – Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
At the same time in Kyiv, a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district collapsed as a result of enemy shelling. This was reported by the capital’s department of the Service of Emergency Situations.

Rescuers found that as a result of shell fragments entering a 12-storey residential building, there was a collapse on the 12th and technical floors, and the neighbouring 9-storey building was also partially damaged. Rescuers immediately began evacuating residents from the building and eliminating some fires.
According to preliminary information, two people were injured, 37 were evacuated. 8 units of basic and special fire and rescue equipment, as well as 35 personnel, were involved on the spot.
We will recall that yesterday, on March 15, the Russian invaders struck three high-rise buildings in two areas of Kyiv. An enemy shell also hit a two-story private house in Osokorky. Also, a day before that, the house in the Obolon district and the Antonov plant have been hit.
