The Bureau of Economic Security (BES), the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police and local authorities have received about 700 reports from Ukrainians about unjustified price increases. Almost 400 of them were processed and the most complaints were found in the Lviv region – 177 reports. This was reported in the BES of Ukraine.

There were 70 reports of violations from the capital and Kyiv oblast, 68 for Dnipropetrovsk oblast, 54 for Zakarpattia oblast, and 45 for Vinnytsia oblast.

The vast majority of reports concern the increase in prices for rental housing, food, basic necessities, and fuel.

«In some cases, landlords who have inflated prices are now providing free accommodation for migrants. Others partially refund accommodation. Hence, in one of the western regions, residents of the hotel got back 15 thousand UAH they had paid for accommodation for 2 days. Entrepreneurs are also transferring funds to support the Armed Forces, helping volunteers,» – the statement reads.

As for fuel prices, it turned out that most gas stations have set a minimum markup, taking into account marginal trade margins in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

Business entities are once again urged not to take advantage of the problems and troubles of others during these difficult times for the country and its citizens. On the contrary, they are called to sacrifice surplus profits for the benefit of the state, because it’s unacceptable to allow such looting in wartime. Citizens are asked to report all violations to the e-mail address [email protected] or by telegram-bot.
