For the last few days, cultural heritage sites in Kyiv have been hedged with protective structures. The installation work is carried out jointly with the concerned public by the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection. This was reported in the Kyiv City State Administration.

«Work has already been completed near the monument to Samson, on the exposition of the Museum of St. Michael’s Cathedral, on the stonehouse of the Kyiv viyt [city mayor in the Medieval Ukraine]. We are finishing the protection of the monument to St. Volodymyr. One of these days, we will start work near the monuments to Skovoroda and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi,» – Oleksandr Nykoryak, director of the department said.

According to him, residents are actively involved in protecting monuments and cultural sites from possible destruction by the Russian occupiers. In particular, activists carried out work at the Theater in Podil, protected the mosaics on the funicular. At the same time, the city administration needs the help of representatives of the construction business.

Among the needs:

scaffolding and formwork installation specialists, construction climbers, manipulator driver;

formwork plywood, board, fire resistant superdiffusion membrane;

5 kW diesel generator, manipulator.

It will be recalled that due to the Russian attack on Ukraine, Lviv is also installing protections on some historical monuments, stained glass windows and individual sculptures, a number of valuable sculptures are being dismantled and stored.
