In August last year, the meeting of reservists and conscripts took place near Kyiv.

Since Ukraine has been living in a state of war since Russia’s first invasion of Donbas and annexation of Crimea in 2014, the Ukrainian army grew significantly, gradually becoming Europe’s most promising military force. In April last year, Russia was starting its build-up of troops near the eastern borders of Ukraine, causing fears in the West and making our country much more attentive to the possible escalation.

Hence, the meeting of reservists and conscripts of Kyiv took place in August last year, marking Ukraine’s regular military exercises, while simultaneously preparing for worse scenarios, one of which became real in February. Lviv Now presents a photoset from this training, published by Kyiv Regional State Administration and Oleksii Samsonov.
