The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated on his Telegram channel that the initial billion hryvnias ($34 million) had been allocated from the reserve fund for the reconstruction of the territories liberated from Russian troops. According to him, this is only the first stage. The funds will be used to eliminate the consequences of hostilities and to rebuild the infrastructure as a matter of priority.

UAH 400 million are prepared for the Kyiv region, UAH 250 million for Chernihiv and Sumy regions. Another UAH 100 million has been allocated for the Zhytomyr Region.

«The funds will be used to repair engineering networks and systems for the restoration of heat, gas, water and electricity. Also for dismantling destruction, repairing roofs, replacing windows and doors, eliminating potholes on roads and other priority needs,» – he said.

The funds will be managed by military-civil administrations in each region. From the government’s side, the reparation process will be coordinated by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.

It will be recalled that according to Denys Shmyhal, the plan to restore Ukraine consists of three stages, the first of which, the operational restoration of destroyed facilities, has already begun. The second stage will be a rapid recovery immediately after the end of hostilities. First of all, it will be necessary to restore the supply of water and electricity so that people can ensure their existence in the destroyed areas.

The third stage is the full restoration of Ukrainian cities, towns, buildings, infrastructure and the country as a whole. It will also be the most expensive, but it is offered to be implemented quickly.
