Russia continues to forcibly integrate the population of Ukraine

Russia has begun issuing passports to Ukrainian citizens who have been forcibly deported to various regions of the aggressor country.

This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine Parliament) Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova.

«By intimidating the most vulnerable categories of people – women, people with disabilities and pensioners, the aggressor authorities received almost 14,000 applications for Russian citizenship and issued 12,000 passports. Such actions of the Russian occupier are aimed at continuing the forced integration of our population into Russian political, economic and humanitarian space,» Denisova said.

She noted that forced certification is illegal and not recognized in Ukraine, is contrary to the principles and norms of international law and is a direct violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

The shelling continued throughout the night in the regional center, and information about the victims is being established. For a day in the region – 10 wounded and four dead civilians. A group of Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine blew up a bridge with Russian equipment bound for Izyum in the Kharkiv region.
