Lviv is developing a comprehensive program, which would enable the use of alternative sources of heating. It is about heating with firewood, wood waste, coal, and other fuel. Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi reported this in a comment for Lviv Now.

At the same time, the question of restricting city residents in the supplies of hot water is not on the table.

«If the enemy strikes not only at power stations, as we have already seen, but also at thermal power stations, then we may find ourselves without any sources of energy, without gas. We are currently developing a comprehensive program in the city that would enable the use of alternative sources of heating. In addition, we will purchase thousands of «burzhuiky» [a metal stove designed for cooking and heating the premises] to provide for the city. We want the residents to be responsible and understand what time we live in,» – he says.

Andrii Sadovyi assumes that the norm of indoor temperature in Ukraine will be a few degrees lower. It will be necessary to save money, but it’s important, according to him, to take care of the functioning of medical facilities and those that ensure the work of the city.

We would like to remind you that the price of gas in the new heating season for consumers should not increase, noted the head of Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi. At the same time, there are concerns about the volumes of blue fuel expected to be extracted and supplied due to the threat of enemy fire. On the eve of winter, residents of the Donetsk region are also urged to evacuate. This is necessary in order not to be under fire without electricity, water and heat.
