In October, an e-queue service will be implemented at the border checkpoint by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. In the first stage, a pilot project is planned to be launched at one of the checkpoints, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Mustafa Nayem announced.

According to him, the web portal will work in a test mode with the possibility of entering the queue from any exit point. The officials promise to present a mobile application by the end of the year. The system will provide integration with customs databases for the prioritization of cargo. The system will be able to independently manage cargo flows depending on the group of goods according to the data of the previous customs declaration.

The use of the e-queue, Nayem adds, will be completely free for carriers, with no mandatory visits to service areas and no human intervention in the system.

«We are aware that the electronic queue alone does not solve the issue of cargo downtime. It depends solely on the capacity of the border checkpoints. Meanwhile, winter is ahead. Waiting in line along the tracks in the frost is, firstly, uncomfortable, and secondly, it leads to additional costs for drivers. E-queue will provide a convenient and understandable service for users, which will save time and wait for passage across the border at any convenient location,» – he adds.
