The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported how the Lviv region is preparing for the heating season. According to him, there are about 35 boilers in reserve, which can be used in case of strikes or in emergency situations, writes the authority’s press service.
«In addition, we are stocking up on solid fuel boilers and also doing our best to have sufficient supplies of coal, firewood, diesel and gasoline,» – he said.
Regarding heating in high-rise buildings in cities, he noted that the administration is doing everything possible to have an alternative supply of heat. The city is working with the State Emergency Service, as well as with charitable organizations, regarding the possible acquisition of large tents, thermal blankets, diesel and electric generators in order to provide heat to the places where people gather and can receive hot food in the event of possible strikes.
«We are also working to provide large diesel generators to critical infrastructure facilities, including all healthcare institutions,» – he added.
We will remind you that Lviv buys «stoves» for multi-apartment buildings to provide heat during the heating season in case of emergencies.
In general, the authorities in the Lviv region are developing a mechanism to replace equipment with alternative types of fuel in case of emergency situations during the heating season. The use of mobile boiler rooms and the installation of heating points are also in consideration.
According to Iryna Marunyak, Deputy Mayor of Lviv for Housing and Communal Affairs, in order to prepare for the heating season at home, you need to have: an electric kettle, a battery-powered lamp, dry alcohol, an electric stove, and wooden windows.
