The state plans to build a modern biofuel boiler house in Lviv, aiming to provide heat for one-fourth of the city. This was announced by the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi.

«This is no refusal of gas yet, but the road map is already clear. Together with «Naftogaz» [state energy company], we are starting to build a modern biofuel boiler house in Lviv. Its capacity is enough to provide heat for one-fourth of the city. The boiler house will already be operational in February. The construction cost is 1 billion hryvnias. This is a pilot project for Ukraine. The next step is the construction of such boiler houses in all cities,» – the mayor said.

We will add that the head of «Naftogaz», Yurii Vitrenko, added at a briefing during his visit to the Lviv region on Friday that his company and the city government of Lviv have a number of agreements to « attract MFI funds for such projects later», – Interfax Ukraine informs.

We will also remind you that the «Horyzonty» LLC of Zynoviy Kozytskyi, who is the father of the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, has discovered a new gas field and launched a wind plant in the Lviv region. This year, the company plans to invest UAH 750 million in gas production and UAH 2.8 billion in renewable energy. Last year, its investments in mining amounted to UAH 646 million.
