Specialists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine measured the radiation level near the wreckage of the Russian Kh-55 SМ cruise missile, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. They recorded that it didn't exceed the norm, Mykola Danylyuk, representative of the Central Military-Scientific Department of the General Staff, said during the briefing.

According to him, the fact that the radiation level of debris is normal indicates that there was no contact of a specific missile with nuclear elements. He clarified that until October 31, the enemy did not use this type of missiles, and all of them were without warheads. However, the military said, even such an empty rocket is very dangerous because of the kinetic energy and its fuel, which explodes and burns on impact.

According to the representative of the General Staff, the Russians use such missiles to divert the attention of air defense, since such missiles change altitude and course in flight. While the Ukrainian air defense system shoots down empty missiles, the Russians launch more modern "calibers". He suggested that the occupiers are erasing the numbers of the missiles because "these may be missiles that Ukraine once handed over to the Russian Federation."

We will remind that during the past day, the units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the Russian occupiers in the areas of settlements: Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Bakhmut, Kurdyumivka, Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske and Maryinka in the Donetsk region.
