Military expert Petro Chernyk said in a comment to Lviv Now that the visit of U.S. President Joe Biden to Ukraine indicates a decision to speed up the end of the full-scale invasion started by Russia.
«Biden’s visit is unprecedented in itself after 15 years, because then George Bush Jr. visited us, and now Biden has arrived himself. The $500 million he brought as aid is far from the main package. It’s due to the fact that since the beginning of this year, the total aid package amounted to more than 8 billion dollars, which is unprecedented in itself. In my opinion, this is the final and ultimate signal for Putin that he is in a zone of absolute solitude, doomed to defeat. And the most important thing, in my opinion, is the decision to accelerate the end of this war,» – he said.
According to him, there are currently all prerequisites for serious counteroffensive actions to begin on the part of Ukraine in the spring-summer of this year. He also noted that the Europeans have already realized that if Ukraine capitulates, they would be next.
«At least 50% of our current monthly budget is formed at the expense of American and European financial institutions. Europeans, primarily the Poles, well realized that if, God forbid, Ukraine capitulates – then they will be next,» – he added.
We will remind you that on February 20, the U.S. president arrived in Kyiv with an unannounced visit. He honoured the memory of the defenders of Ukraine at the memorial wall of St. Michael’s Cathedral. After that, Joe Biden announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine. During the press conference, he clarified that Washington will transfer ammunition to the HIMARS systems and Javelin anti-tank missile systems. In addition, according to the American president, the USA and other partners have already delivered 700 tanks, thousands of armoured vehicles, 1,000 artillery systems, and other equipment to Ukraine.
