In Russia, in Grozny, explosions were reported in areas where administrative and military facilities are located, and in Yaroslavl, damage to oil infrastructure was confirmed. Simultaneously, the Russian side claims a large-scale deployment of new units to combat Ukrainian drones. This is reported by Hromadske.

Since the morning of May 8, explosions have been heard in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation, which are linked to a drone attack. This was reported by local social media pages and opposition resources, including the Niyso movement. Regional authorities have not publicly commented on the situation.

Videos of explosions in areas where the local administration building, a military town, and the FSB department are located have appeared on social networks. According to OSINT analysis by the Astra Telegram channel, the strikes could have hit the Khankala area, where a Russian military base and the headquarters of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division are located.

Separately, a strike in the area of the Grozny railway station, located near key administrative and security facilities of the city, was reported.

Simultaneously, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attack on an oil facility in Yaroslavl, which is located more than 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

In his address, he stated: "Yaroslavl, more than 700 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine. An oil sector facility that was of great significance for financing the Russian war."

According to preliminary reports, a fire broke out at the local oil refinery after the attack, but the official extent of the damage has not been publicly detailed.

At the same time, Ukrainian intelligence and military command report that Russia is accelerating the deployment of new forces to counter drones. This involves creating four additional regiments, 24 divisions and 162 batteries, as well as strengthening the cover for Moscow and the southern regions.

According to intelligence estimates, Russia also plans a significant increase in the production of drones and ammunition for them, which indicates an escalation of the drone component in the war.
