Lviv received four buses from its Estonian sister city Tartu. Part of the transport will be used for city transportation, and one bus will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
"Today we have another visit from a delegation from Tartu. For the community of Lviv, our partners have brought four large buses: one of them will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the other three will operate in the city, in particular, they will be involved in transporting veterans", the statement reads.
According to the city council, this is not the first transfer of aid from Estonian partners.
Kristjan Kostabi, Crisis Coordinator of Tartu, noted that these buses previously operated in the city and were specifically purchased from a municipal enterprise for transfer to Lviv.
"In total, we have already handed over 10 vehicles to Lviv, as well as various equipment, including medical equipment for the UNBROKEN center, trench candles, etc. – everything that can be useful to Ukraine", he emphasized.
It is noted that cooperation between the cities has been ongoing since November 2024, when Lviv and Tartu signed a sister city agreement.
