"Bring back Fedorov!" - Mass protests against the dismissal of the Minister of Defense erupted in Kyiv and the regions
A new wave of discontent swept the country due to the probable or already adopted decision on personnel reshuffling in the defense department.

Today, near the Office of the President in the capital, as well as in a number of other Ukrainian cities, large-scale rallies in support of the head of the Ministry of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, have begun. Citizens took to the streets with a peaceful protest, demanding that the minister, whose work inspires high trust among the public, retain his position. This is reported by reported by UP.

"Cardboard protest" in the center of the capital

The epicenter of events in Kyiv was Franko Square, located near the government quarter. Here, at least several hundred outraged Kyivans and activists gathered in the first hours of the rally.

The atmosphere at the rally near the Office of the President is characterized by the following details:

  • people hold homemade signs on ordinary cardboard with slogans such as "Fedorov is the Minister of Defense," "For what?", "Don't touch what works," "Hands off Fedorov," and "Power is still with the people";
  • rally participants chant "Shame!" in the direction of government offices and demand the immediate return of the minister to his duties.

Regions picked up the wave of discontent

Protest moods instantly spread beyond Kyiv – similar peaceful gatherings simultaneously began in the regional centers across the country. People are coming to local authorities, expressing solidarity with the demands of the Kyiv protesters.

Geography of "cardboard protests" in the regions:

  • in Ivano-Frankivsk, people gathered near the administrative building on Hrushevskoho Street;
  • in Vinnytsia, the support rally unfolded directly near the city council building;
  • in Lutsk, the Theater Square became the epicenter of the protest;
  • mass gatherings of citizens were also recorded in the central locations of Odesa and Lviv.

Currently, the protests are exclusively peaceful in nature, but the number of participants in the squares continues to grow.
