Russian troops struck a UNICEF warehouse where humanitarian aid for Ukrainian children and war-affected families was stored. This is reported reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.

According to the ombudsman, among the supplies lost at the warehouse were generators, drinking water, hygiene kits, and other critically important items. This aid was intended to support families in frontline and affected regions.

"The aggressor state is responsible for another blow not only to civilian infrastructure but also to an international humanitarian mission that saves lives every day," emphasized Dmytro Lubinets.

He stressed that UNICEF is a long-term partner of the Ombudsman's Office and helps Ukrainian children and families affected by the war daily. The Ombudsman emphasized that the strike on the UNICEF warehouse is a blow to those who save lives and called on the international community to increase pressure on Russia and support humanitarian missions working in Ukraine.

Dmytro Lubinets also noted that Russia continues to systematically attack humanitarian infrastructure and civilian objects. According to UNICEF, in the past week alone, two children died in Ukraine, and at least 50 more were injured. June saw the highest level of child casualties in a single month since 2022, with seven children killed and 116 wounded.

UNICEF has been working in Ukraine since 1997, and after the full-scale invasion began, it significantly expanded its humanitarian programs. The organization provides children and families with access to drinking water, medical care, psychological support, education, and hygiene items. According to UNICEF, millions of Ukrainian children and their parents received assistance from the UN agency in 2025 alone.

On the night of July 19, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the Kyiv region. The logistics hub of AMTEL company and the production facilities of the Ukrainian military equipment manufacturer UKRTAC came under enemy fire. As a result of this attack, warehouses, humanitarian cargo, medicines, and equipment were destroyed.
