As part of the preparations for the next heating season, the Lviv region will connect 7 cogeneration units to the grid with a total electrical capacity of 3.8 MW and thermal capacity of 4.1 MW. The Government has allocated UAH 12.4 million for these works. This is reported by the Lviv Regional State Administration.
"We are preparing for the next heating season. There are cogeneration units in the regions that are not yet connected to the grid. The task for regions and communities is to put them into operation and prepare them for use to provide heat and electricity for hospitals, schools, and other critical infrastructure facilities in winter", the report says.

The region received the cogeneration units, in particular with the support of international partners, for the stable operation of critical infrastructure facilities. At the same time, communities were previously unable to install them independently due to a lack of funding and necessary technical expertise.
All available equipment must be put into operation by October 1. By this time, communities and regional authorities must prepare project documentation, complete construction and installation work, set up sites, and ensure grid connection.
By the way, a cogeneration unit is an energy complex that simultaneously produces electrical and thermal energy.
