On the night of September 1, the Russian army carried out a ballistic strike on Kyiv, specifically hitting a railway depot and other railway infrastructure facilities. As a result of the shelling, seven people died, including six railway workers. This was reported by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Chairman of the Board of "Ukrzaliznytsia".

According to the head of the company, another "Ukrzaliznytsia" employee is in the hospital with injuries, where she is receiving all necessary assistance.

"Night ballistic strikes on Kyiv – targeted at the railway depot and other railway facilities. The ballistic strike claimed the lives of 7 people, 6 of whom are our employees. 1 colleague is in the hospital with injuries – we are by her side, providing all necessary assistance. Dozens managed to save themselves in shelters, we are helping them recover", - Oleksandr Kubrakov wrote.

He reported massive infrastructure damage: one of the workshops was completely destroyed, and rescue services are extinguishing fires.

Due to the damage, traffic on two railway sections was temporarily blocked, but it has now been restored.

"But all this is nothing compared to the terrible loss of colleagues. We are in touch with their families. We are all with them to get through this extremely difficult time. A bitterly impossible night", - emphasized the Chairman of the Board of "Ukrzaliznytsia".
