On 7 December, the Lviv region will transfers from the red to the less-serious yellow Covid restriction zone. But this is not likely to make a big difference to daily life: As of 6 December, Ukraine’s quarantine rules have been tightened for the «yellow» zone, expanding the existing restrictions in red zones for unvaccinated citizens.

From now on, public and cultural institutions, restaurants, gyms in the «yellow» zone can work only if all staff are vaccinated with at least one dose, have a certificate of recovery or a negative test. The same will apply to visitors.

Representatives of institutions should not just ask about the Covid-certificate or check its presence visually at the entrance of the institution, but read the QR-code from the certificate through the application «DIIA». After that, the status of the certificate will be shown on the verifier’s smartphone – valid or invalid.

In the absence of a document from an employee or visitor, the owner of the institution will have to pay a fine of 34 to 170 thousand UAH.

In the «yellow zone», people who have not received at least one vaccination or do not have a test (PCR, antigen), a certificate of recovery or contraindications, can not participate in any kind of mass events (entertainment, religious, social), and will not be able to visit cinemas and other cultural institutions. Bars, cafes, restaurants, and shopping malls will be closed for them. The work of banks, gas stations, veterinary shops, pharmacies and all grocery stores in the «yellow» and «red» levels is not limited. It is mandatory to wear a mask and keep a distance of one and a half meters.

In addition, according to the changes, the validity of the «yellow» vaccination certificates for one vaccination from Coivid-19 will be reduced from December 6. It will be 30 days, instead of 120 as it was previously.

Here is a list of the quarantine rules.
