The entire reconnaissance platoon of the 74th Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russia surrendered near Chernihiv. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi on Facebook.
«The Russian occupiers, having encountered total opposition from Ukrainian defenders, surrender. A whole reconnaissance platoon of the 74th Motorized Rifle Brigade surrendered near Chernihiv. Zaluzhny Sergeant Buinichev Konstantin Sergeevich. 74th Motorized Rifle Brigade, Kemerovo Region, « the statement reads.
According to the officer, the training was in Yelnya, and yesterday they learned about the attack on Ukraine, but thought they would return home.
«No one thought we were going to kill. We were not going to fight, we were gathering information,» he said.
It will be recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin issued an emergency appeal to the Russians at 4 am announcing the beginning of a «special military operation.» He says he made his decision after he was approached by the leaders of the self-proclaimed «republics» in Donbas. Because of this, martial law is imposed throughout Ukraine. The sky over Ukraine was closed. In particular, due to the closure of Ukraine’s airspace, all flights to/from Lviv airport were cancelled.
