22 000 thousand volunteers from 52 countries are already going to Ukraine to fight against the Russian occupiers

Requests from foreign volunteers are currently being processed, and the mobilization of the world’s free people is «simply impressive.»

Experienced veterans and volunteers are coming to Ukraine from 52 countries to fight against the Russian occupier. They will be part of the International Legion of Volunteers, which was announced on 27 February by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The total number of applications so far is more than 20,000 foreigners. This was stated today at a briefing by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.

«It simply came to our notice then. Ukraine did not hire them or stimulate them with anything. It is their voluntary willingness to fight for the good. I have no right to report how many of them there are, let alone detail them by individual countries, but the total number of applications is almost 22,000,» – the minister said.

The Foreign Minister also adds that requests from foreign volunteers are currently being processed, and the mobilization of free people around the world is «simply impressive.»
