Somewhere prolonged, somewhere shortened. How universities in Lviv will end the semester amid war
In most cases, the examination session is currently underway at universities. Students take exams remotely.

The academic year at Lviv Polytechnic National University, according to its schedule, is coming to an end by July 1. Currently, the studies and examination session is underway in a remote format. This was reported to Lviv Now by the university’s Vice-Rector for Research and Education Oleh Davydchak.

«We have experience, we work remotely. In previous years, the studying year usually ended in mid-June,» – he explains.

As was reported in a comment to Lviv Now by Iryna Solonynko, the First Vice-Rector for Research and Education at Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi, the graduation ceremony and awarding of diplomas will take place on June 10. The semester will end according to the schedule at all other faculties – by the end of June.

Bachelors and masters of professional master’s degrees at Ivan Franko National University are to complete their studies by the end of June. At the same time, as specified for Lviv Now in the institution’s press service, masters of scientific master’s degree must do it until May 31. The session will continue online.

We will add that the school year 2021/2022 will end differently for schoolchildren in Lviv and the region. For some pupils, it will be usually in late May, but for others – in mid-June. According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, schools in wartime are recommended to determine the date of semester completion individually.
