In Kyiv, a client of the 2BFit fitness club stated that trainers conduct classes in Russian, despite complaints. According to her, the situation did not change even after appeals to the administration. This was reported by the establishment's client Kateryna Hradnova-Savytska.
According to the woman, she began visiting the club in November 2025, and during the very first group CrossFit training session, the trainer conducted the class in Russian.
The client turned to the administration with a complaint, after which she was promised that the situation would be resolved. However, as she claims, no changes occurred — most trainers continued to speak Russian, including with Ukrainian-speaking visitors.
During a follow-up appeal on March 16, according to the woman, she was told the situation was due to the fact that there are internally displaced persons among the employees. Later, on March 18, during a conversation with the director, an argument was made that a significant portion of the clients are Russian-speaking.
The client claims that in practice this is not true, and the use of the Russian language is the trainers' choice. According to her, the director suggested she stop visiting the club and also accused her of inappropriate behavior.
She also reported that after the situation went public, she was blocked on social media, and the administration allegedly threatens to release footage from surveillance cameras.
The office of the State Language Protection Commissioner noted that they have already received a complaint and will check the fitness club's activities.
At the same time, "UP. Zhyttia" reached out for a comment from the 2BFit fitness club. The establishment stated that communication with clients is conducted in Ukrainian.
According to the director, Serhii, after the client's appeal, the administration:
— conducted explanatory work with the trainer;
— emphasized the mandatory compliance with communication standards;
— made appropriate management decisions.
The club also noted that the client's personal trainer spoke exclusively in Ukrainian.
The manager added that the decision to terminate the contract and refund the money was related to the client's form of communication, not the language issue.
"We recognize the importance of the language issue and regret that the client had a negative impression," — the director noted.
