Work is underway in Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Park in Drohobych to prepare a beach area near the local lake. This is reported by the Department of Urban Economy of the Drohobych City Council.
Throughout May, extensive work was carried out in the park, located on Truskavetska Street, to improve the coastal area and the body of water itself.
It is noted that utility workers cleaned the shoreline of overgrowth and bushes, removed branches after tree pruning, and tidied up the territory. They also used special equipment to level the shoreline and brought in sand to equip the future beach area.
Separately, specialists prepared the body of water itself: they measured the depth in designated areas, installed ladders for entering the water, and placed buoys to mark the swimming boundaries.

At the same time, the city department emphasizes that swimming in the lake is currently prohibited. The reason is the absence of a permanent rescue post, which is mandatory for the safe opening of the swimming season.
"Since people's safety is our top priority, the full start of the swimming season is impossible without constant and professional supervision of vacationers on the water," - the message reads.

Currently, the communal enterprise is looking for a lifeguard to work at the reservoir. After the rescue post is staffed, the community will be officially informed about the opening of the swimming season.
The Department of Urban Economy urges residents to adhere to temporary restrictions and to be understanding regarding the completion of preparatory work.
