A modern shelter was created at the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center, which functions as a full-fledged mini-maternity center during air raid alerts. It was equipped with the support of the Czech Republic.
As reported by the facility, the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv, Jiří Borcel, visited the perinatal center. This is his first visit to the institution since his appointment in August 2025.
During the meeting, the diplomat was shown the result of the cooperation — a shelter with an area of over 700 m², which was equipped with modern medical equipment thanks to Czech aid. In the underground space, all conditions were created for providing assistance to women in labor and newborns even during prolonged air raid alerts.
According to the center's director, Mariya Malachynska, the facility received all the expensive equipment free of charge. "We managed to turn the shelter built from scratch into a full-fledged perinatal center in miniature," she noted.
The center emphasizes that this allows for providing quality medical care around the clock, regardless of the security situation.

In addition, with the support of Czech partners, the medical facility received a 630 kW generator, which can ensure the uninterrupted operation of the entire maternity building if necessary.
The perinatal center emphasizes that such cooperation is important for the region, as it allows for increasing patient safety during the war and developing the medical infrastructure of the Lviv region.
