In the Darnytskyi district of the capital, rescuers are searching for a 15-year-old girl and her family under the rubble of a nine-story building destroyed by a Russian attack. This was announced announced Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
According to the mayor, three children are among the other injured in the capital's hospitals. In particular, medics are providing assistance to a 16-year-old girl, a five-year-old girl, and her one-year-old brother, who is currently undergoing surgery.
A total of 13 victims of the attack and over 80 wounded are known.
Scale and specifics of the Russian shelling
The main target of the Russian missile and drone attack on July 2 was Kyiv.According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia launched 496 drones of various types and 74 missiles of air, land, and sea basing against the country's territory. In total, the enemy used 570 air attack assets.
The peculiarity of this attack was the simultaneous use of a large number of ballistic missiles, jet UAVs, and other air attack assets of various types, which were heading towards Ukrainian cities from several different directions.
Consequences of Russian strikes by district in the capital
- Darnytskyi District: suffered the most damage. As a result of a direct hit on a nine-story residential building, apartments from the first to the sixth floor were destroyed. State Emergency Service units rescued 17 people from under the rubble, seven of whom were de-blocked. One fatality is known at this location, and there is also information about missing persons. In addition, due to falling debris, fires broke out in the private sector, and a five-story residential building was partially destroyed.
- Shevchenkivskyi District: experienced some of the most serious damage. A hotel caught fire, a residential building and a medical facility were partially destroyed, and the building of an emergency medical care substation was damaged. Five ambulance workers (medics and drivers) were injured, one of the paramedics is in critical condition. A market also caught fire in the district.
- Desnianskyi District: a nine-story residential building was partially destroyed, and people were under the rubble. Drone debris also fell near a private house.
- Sviatoshynskyi District: fires broke out in private houses at two addresses. In one of them, people were trapped after debris hit.
- Holosiivskyi District: as a result of the attack, the roof of a multi-story residential building caught fire.
- Obolonskyi District: warehouse premises were damaged, and rescuers fought the resulting fire throughout the night.
- Pecherskyi District: fires broke out at two addresses near residential buildings.
- Solomianskyi District: a fire was recorded next to an administrative building.
- Podilskyi District: the consequences of the Russian shelling were also officially recorded.
Operational assistance centers for residents have been set up near the most affected sites, where investigators are taking applications from victims.
Changes in public transport movement
Due to the clearance of the consequences of enemy shelling, lack of power supply, and damage to the overhead contact network, Kyiv's public transport is running with delays and has changed its routes. According to KP "Kyivpastrans", traffic on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard is currently completely blocked.
The following routes are running with schedule delays:
- Trolleybuses: No. 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 19, 22-K, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 33, 35, 38, 39, 41, 42, 43, 50;
- Trams: No. 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19.
To ensure passenger transportation, temporary bus services have been additionally organized:
- along the tram route №14 — "Kontraktova Ploshcha – V প্রতিফলnyy Prospekt";
- along the trolleybus route № 41 — "Tuluz Street – Svyatoshyn Metro Station.
Due to the traffic block on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, bus routes №№ 114 and 118 are temporarily routed according to the following scheme: Velyka Vasylkivska Street – Hetmana Pavla Skoropadskoho Street – Volodymyrska Street – Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.
