Emergency and rescue operations are underway in Kyiv at three locations affected by the massive Russian strike on July 2. As of now, 30 people have been confirmed dead, and another 10 people remain missing. This is what was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the head of state, rescuers have already cleared a significant portion of the debris, but the search operation will continue as long as necessary. The attack injured almost a hundred people, including children. As of the morning of July 3, 56 injured individuals, including four children, are in Kyiv hospitals.
Zelenskyy noted that in addition to Kyiv, the Russian army attacked several other regions in the past day. In Kryvyi Rih, a garage cooperative came under attack, resulting in seven people injured, while residential buildings and two schools were damaged. In Kharkiv Oblast, six people, including three children, were injured as a result of a night attack on a private house.
In Kherson, the enemy launched missile strikes on the regional hospital, where a doctor died and a nurse was injured. In Sumy Oblast, four people, including a mother and daughter, died as a result of a drone strike on a multi-story building.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Russian forces are deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, using terror as a method of warfare. He stressed the necessity of reliable protection for the Ukrainian sky, particularly with anti-ballistic systems, which is a prerequisite for a diplomatic settlement.
