On Friday, July 3, Kyiv announced a Day of Mourning for those killed as a result of the massive Russian attack. State flags will be lowered in the city, and all entertainment events will be canceled. This was announced by the capital's mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
According to the latest data, 13 Kyiv residents were killed as a result of the enemy shelling. The total number of victims is currently 86 people.
As part of the mourning events, state flags will be lowered on Kyiv's municipal buildings. The city hall staff also recommended that the heads of state and private facilities do the same. In addition, all entertainment events are prohibited in the capital on this day.
Condition of the injured and the rescue operation
According to Klitschko, three injured children remain in Kyiv hospitals: a 16-year-old girl, a 5-year-old girl, and her one-year-old brother. The director of the Health Department, Tetiana Mostepan, clarified that the one-year-old boy is in serious condition and is currently being treated by surgeons performing an operation.
It also became known that six medics were injured as a result of the Russian strike near the building of the emergency medical care substation.
Currently, all of the capital's medical services are working in an enhanced mode. Specialists note that the number of affected citizens may still increase, as the elimination of the shelling consequences and the rescue operation at the destruction sites are still ongoing.
