As a result of the Russian ballistic missile attack on July 19, Ukrainian business and cultural facilities suffered large-scale destruction. The strike destroyed Winetime's main warehouse, the «Knyholav» publishing house's warehouse, where hundreds of thousands of books burned down, and also destroyed one of the largest AMTEL logistics complexes near Kyiv. The consequences of the shelling were reported by the affected companies and the State Emergency Service (SES).

Consequences of strikes on warehouses of Ukrainian companies

One of the biggest losses was the warehouse of a Ukrainian publishing house «Knyholav». The company reported, that their warehouse was completely destroyed as a result of the Russian attack. The most important thing for the publishing house was that none of the employees were injured. However, the material damage turned out to be huge – the fire destroyed almost 250,000 books.

«Knyholav» emphasized that these were not just print runs of literature, but the result of the long-term work of many people - authors, translators, editors, designers, printing houses, and the entire team. The publishing house also stated that Russia continues to purposefully destroy not only civilian infrastructure, but also Ukrainian culture and education. Due to the loss of the warehouse, the company warned of possible temporary delays in sending orders, while they are already working on restoring logistics.

The company also suffered significant losses Winetime. The enterprise reported, that during the night attack, eight Russian ballistic missiles hit their main product warehouse. After the hits, a large-scale fire broke out on the territory, which was extinguished by SES rescuers. According to the company, no employees were injured, but the losses are very serious. The company promised to disclose the final scale of destruction and the amount of damage after the assessment of the consequences is completed.

Another enterprise that suffered from the night attack was the office and logistics center of the company «Kofiton», which specializes in importing green coffee. The company reported, that the facility was damaged, but the main coffee supplies were saved thanks to pre-implemented security measures.

Destruction of the AMTEL logistics complex

The Russian missile strike also caused huge losses to the logistics infrastructure of Kyiv region. Ballistic missiles destroyed the logistics complex AMTEL in Bucha district, with an area of over 100.2 thousand square meters.

According to SES , after the hits, a large-scale fire broke out, which covered two warehouse buildings with a total area of about 100 thousand square meters. More than 200 rescuers, 73 units of equipment, and three helicopters were involved in extinguishing the fire. According to preliminary information from rescuers, two people were injured as a result of this strike.

As a result of the destruction of the AMTEL logistics complex, hundreds of thousands of parcels, medicines, and humanitarian goods stored in the warehouses were lost. In addition, a large warehouse with products for food service establishments burned down, where METRO Cash & Carry, FRIANNA FOODS, and SANTA-UKRAINE goods were stored. The fire destroyed significant stocks of french fries, frozen semi-finished products, fish, seafood, and other products that were supplied to restaurants, cafes, and fast-food chains throughout Ukraine.

Recall,  Russia carried out one of the most massive ballistic attacks on Kyiv: there is one fatality and 16 injured. Russia used over 40 missiles of various types, most of which were directed at Kyiv, as well as 120 attack drones.
