The Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, discovered fragments of a Russian "Shahed" type kamikaze drone during a walk in a forest near the capital. The diplomat reported the incident on her Facebook page.

Mathernová said that she usually visits the forest in search of mushrooms or the first spring flowers, but this time, among the trees, she stumbled upon large black metal remains of a weapon with characteristic Russian markings. Fortunately, the discovered fragment did not contain explosive elements.

According to the Ambassador, such finds are a direct demonstration of what life in Ukraine has become due to Russian aggression. She emphasized that a situation where people are forced to see the remains of deadly weapons instead of nature cannot be considered normal in the modern world.

Mathernová also pointed to the cynicism of the Russian army, which did not stop shelling even despite proposals for an Easter truce. The enemy's latest strikes led to tragic consequences: at least 16 people were killed, and more than 90 people sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity.

The diplomat emphasized that Ukraine deserves a just peace, and its citizens have every right to safety in their own homes and while walking through their native forests without fear of stumbling upon deadly kamikaze weapons.
