From 7 December, Lviv goes to the «yellow» quarantine zone after being «red» for more than five weeks, as the number of cases has significantly declined.

However, just as Lviv was ready to reduce restrictions, the national government decreed that most of the red zone rules will now apply to yellow zones, meaning that unvaccinated people will still need test result from within the prior 72 hours, certificate of recovery, or contraindications to enter the public establishments, otherwise they won’t be allowed.

The only rule that differentiates the red zone from the yellow: one dose is enough to be considered as a vaccinated person and avoid restrictions or testing requirements.

Restrictions of the yellow zone – as listed below – will not apply if all employees and visitors have one of the documents: yellow (valid for 30 days) or green Covid-certificate, international vaccination certificate, a negative PCR or express test (within 72 hours), or a recovery document.

That is, to work and visit institutions at the yellow level, it is enough to get at least one vaccination and have at least a «yellow» internal Covid-certificate or a temporary certificate 063-O issued by the doctor who performed the vaccination.

Otherwise, within the «yellow» level, the following prohibitions stay in force, with the practical reality that most every place is opening and functioning.

  • to carry out any mass events, except those related to the assessment of the quality of education (state examinations, etc.); official sports events, including matches of team games of professional sports clubs without spectators with observance of anti-epidemic measures;
  • work of cinemas, theaters or other cultural institutions;
  • work of public catering establishments (bars, restaurants, cafes), except for address delivery and orders with yourself;
  • to visit educational institutions. The prohibition does not apply to preschoolers, primary school pupils and students of special educational institutions and, as well as educational institutions in which all employees have a document confirming receipt of a full course of vaccination;
  • visit gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools;
  • activities of establishments providing accommodation services (except hotels, sanatoriums, institutions and establishments providing social services);
  • travelling by air and rail in interregional and international traffic without the relevant documents on vaccination or recovery (except for persons under 18 years of age).

Now, in Lviv, 363 patients are staying in hospitals, and 350 positive cases were indicated yesterday, compared to 913 hospitalised and 521 daily cases as of 10 November.

We will add that Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Rivne, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk regions and Kyiv city become «yellow», while Zakarpattia, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi regions have already been in this level earlier. The Poltava region remains orange, while «green» zone isn’t established anywhere in Ukraine yet.
